About Athletic Reality

Athletic Reality started in 2023. We were created for the sole purpose of helping beginners and anyone that is trying to improve their athletic ability, in baseball or basketball, or just for personal gains. There is no such thing as improving without hard work. But with over 10 years of experience training for sports and helping family and friends get better in their athletic ability makes us qualified to teach anyone.

We played baseball at the varsity level and got scholarships to play D1 to Juco baseball at the next level. Have been always looking for ways to improve and keep striving to better ourselves in sports. We still play in leagues and always looking to stay sharp and athletic throughout the years.

No matter if you or your kid is looking to improve their athletic ability for a sport or personal gain, we will walk you through a training session and help you out as much as we can. Everyone has different starting points. Not everyone is a pro since the beginning. But we believe that hard work, respecting recovery days, and knowing the right things to do will elevate everyone to the next level.

The training session starts right at the booked time. When it comes to baseball training it is held for 2 hours long. And since we rent out a field time is not on our side. Because as soon as the 2 hours are up, the lights turn off if we are training in the evening. And even in the daytime, since fields are reserved for a specific time, being on time or a bit earlier is key.

The reason we only allow for a 2-hour baseball training session is that there is a lot to do in such a little time. In baseball, we need to work on throwing, fielding, batting, and running. Without those 4 things, we believe that practice was not as successful as it should be. But if you can’t stay for the full 2-hour baseball session, then we recommend that you let us know ahead of time. That way we can discuss with you and your kid what you would like to emphasize in the baseball training session. That way we can go ahead and make it beneficial for both of us.

What to expect on the baseball workout Pasadena, TX location with Athletic Reality

At the beginning of the baseball training session in Pasadena, TX we will begin by getting every player’s name. Since we can have multiple kids in practice, we believe that knowing their names is important. Because by those names friendships can get started and at any level, there will always be people that you don’t even know. So it’s important to get out of your comfort zone.

After the intro, we will start with some slight jogs and stretches. We want to make sure people are a bit warm before we start warming up the arm. Then it’s all about warming up the arm. Short and long toss. Focusing on mechanics, control, and arm strength.

Then after warming up the arm, we will focus on fielding. You will be playing any spot in the infield. If you mainly play in the outfield, then outfield you will go. Here we will be going over fielding mechanics, making correct and strong throws to a teammate to make the out. This is super important because defense is part of the game. if you can’t make a correct throw then that is something that can cost a game. Depending on the position and the situation we will call out where you need to make the throw. Practice like it’s a game. It’s good for understanding the game. If we see that you are struggling we will make sure to go over the problem and we will fix it right away.

Time has flown by. 1 hour in already. If players need a water break then they will get a break. But after fielding we will be going into batting practice. We will have 1 person batting, and one person in the on-deck circle. Then the rest of the players will be on the field shagging. If we have enough players then we will have 3 more people hitting off the tee. This is all about getting reps in and working on hand-eye coordination. Looking at stance, batting speed, contact with the ball, and good eye coordination. You need to hit the ball and get on base. Without that, no scores are run, and no games are won.

Then after that, we will have a bit of running competition if time allows. Or if time allows we will have running training. It all depends on the time left.

The goal of the training is to help everyone get better than they were the day before. That’s why we emphasize reps, quality training, and knowing what you are doing. There are a lot more sessions to be held. But those are the main ones that make a baseball player better.
