Basketball Training Frequently Asked Questions
How old does my child need to be to book a basketball training session?
As long as your child is 10 years old and not older than 18, then he can book a basketball training session. Depending on the age of the kids that booked the session, I will try to keep everyone together in the same age group.
What age groups are you focusing on?
10 – 12 years old. 13 – 14 years old. 15-18 years old. We will train in those groups so everyone has competition and friends from around the same age group and skill level.
Why don’t you train people older than 18 years old?
At the age of 18 if your child still believes that there are some more parts of his game that he needs improvement on, then that is fine. And if your son is 18 years old or older and he is a beginner then I can teach him. I just don’t want to be teaching to someone who already knows everything and is a pro at basketball. That’ll be a waste of time for both of us.
Is the training going to be individually or in a team environment?
The type of training will depend on how many people sign up for that date and time. If only one person signs up then it will be individual training. The minimum amount of people allowed is one and the maximum amount of people that can sign up for a training session is 10. We will have full-court scrimmages if we have 10 people at the basketball training session.
Where will the training session take place?
The training session will take place in a basketball gym. The training session will take place in the Pasadena, Texas, and Deer Park, Texas area.
What happens if it rains on the day of the basketball training session?
No one can control the weather. And basketball isn’t meant to be played in the mud. I will message or call everyone an hour before the booked training session. If no one can make it then I will change the basketball training session to another time. If some parents can make it and I can also make it then we will have the basketball training session. I will reach out and discuss a change of date for the parents who couldn’t make the booked session. If you are not available at any other time and would like your money back, then you will let me know and I will gladly refund you.
What does my child need to bring for the basketball training session?
For the basketball training session please have your child bring his own basketball stuff. A basketball, and some basketball shoes. Please also have your child wear the proper attire, so no jeans unless he feels comfortable. That’s his decision. If he doesn’t have a basketball then please let me know. I will bring extra basketballs anyway. The only thing I can’t provide is shoes. It’s recommended that each child brings their own basketball shoes because they will be running and jumping on a basketball court. But if no other option well then tennis shoes are fine.
Do you only hold basketball training sessions in the afternoon or are mornings available too?
The reason I hold basketball training sessions in the afternoon is because the kids are usually at school until 3 p.m. If there are times when people can or want to train in the morning then just let me know 2 days before but preferably the week before. Also Saturday and Sunday training can take place in the morning. So just let me know what you would like and I’ll see if we can make it happen.
How long is each basketball training session?
Basketball training sessions are 2 hours long. If you can only stay for one hour then please let me know. I recommend that your child stays for the full two hours because there are a lot of things to go over, and reps that need to be done.
What will the basketball training consist of?
The basketball training will consist of shooting drills, defense drills, speed and conditioning drills, and competitions. 10 people is a little bit of people, so your child will be engaged at all times.
Why should I trust that you will help my child?
I’ve been playing basketball since I was 10 years old. I’m a self-taught basketball player who played in intermediate and high school ball. I only play in adult leagues now. I used to have a 38-inch vertical, averaging 11 points a game, and 8 assists per game.
